Abstract

The European Union candidate countries are required to fulfill necessary conditions in order to achieve full membership status. Therefore, the process towards the European Union evolves through negotiating chapters of the Acquis Communautaire. Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to alignment with EU acquis in accordance with the Stabilization and Association Agreement that was signed in 2008. Bosnia and Herzegovina commitment towards European integrations and its long-term process requires significant structural changes in various sectors mainly of judiciary, human rights, corruption, ect. Hence, political representatives need much effort towards fulfillment of the conditions for opening negotiation chapters in the upcoming period. Therefore, the primary objective is the process of BiH towards EU and analysis of the reforms through negotiating chapters that halt the process towards full membership. However, at the same time, Bosnia and Herzegovina faces significant challenges due to the fact that the EU integration process takes place simultaneously as implementation of the Dayton Peace Accord.
