ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on many aspects of society, including education. The pandemic has completely changed the regular academic environment, forcing the process of teaching out of the classroom and into a mostly digital environment. As a result, teachers, students and parents have all had to adapt to new circumstances and methods of instruction. In particular, teachers have been called upon to learn and make use of various technological platforms that allow them to convey course information and answer follow-up questions without having physical access to their students. This study reviews the use of educational videos and learning platforms such as Eduvidual as well as their impact on learning progression during the course of the pandemic. It uses a qualitative design based on (i) feedback from students regarding both their learning success and the effectiveness of instructional videos / learning platforms and (ii) evaluations and perceptions of teachers as regards their students’ understanding of the assigned course materials.
